Inducted November 18, 2018, Tim Pierce is an astonishing A-level studio player whose chops, finesse,
and imagination put him in a class all his own. Grooving on the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Pierce moved to Los
Angeles from his home in Albuquerque where his insane talents were immediately recognized. He played
on records by Bon Jovi, John Waite and Rick Springfield and also spent four years touring the world in Springfield’s band. But Tim was not a road dog and wanted to concentrate on studio work. Since the late 1980s, he has been a fixture on very important records by a litany of gifted artists including Joe Cocker, Meat Loaf, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Rob Thomas, Phil Collins, Madonna, and a host of others. In June 1990, the guitarist put together Toy Matinee, a short-lived
band full of great songs and promise but ultimately an unrealized potential. Tim is still one of the most in-demand studio rats around and when he isn’t recording, he’s working on his own online guitar Masterclass and YouTube channel. He shares his wisdom and techniques with 150,000 subscribers who all want to play like Tim but alas, probably never will!
